Governor Brian Kemp expressed his appreciation for Hyundai Motor Group's positive impact on the State of Georgia, stating, “Hyundai is with us at the table, helping us recruit businesses, giving back to our communities, and working with our world-class colleges and universities to connect more Georgians with great opportunities." This sentiment was echoed by José Muñoz, President and Global COO of Hyundai Motor Company and President and CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America, who described Georgia as a second home for the company and highlighted the creation of jobs and economic impact resulting from Hyundai's investments in the state.

Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones commended the collaborative efforts that have led to Hyundai's positive impact, stating, "The commitment from all stakeholders to work together has enabled Hyundai's positive impact and the creation of thousands of jobs." Speaker of the House Jon Burns also praised the investment and expansion in Southeast Georgia, emphasizing the generational impact of Hyundai's Metaplant on the state.

The celebration of Hyundai Motor Group's impact on Georgia was attended by various state leaders, legislative members, and company representatives, all emphasizing the significance of the statewide impact of Hyundai's investments. The General Assembly passed a Resolution commending Hyundai Motor Group’s dedication to the State of Georgia, officially declaring February 26 as Hyundai Day throughout the state.

With plans to produce up to 300,000 Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia EVs annually at the Metaplant, the project is expected to create more than 6,700 new jobs and over $2.5 billion in investment through supplier facilities operational before the opening of HMGMA. The groundbreaking of the Georgia Quick Start Training Center at the Metaplant site further solidifies the commitment to training Georgians for high-skill careers in the automotive industry.

The partnership between Hyundai Motor Group and local technical colleges in Georgia to prepare students for employment at the Metaplant was highlighted by TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier, who emphasized the commitment to cultivating a highly skilled workforce for the electric vehicle industry. Additionally, Georgia Tech's collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company aims to support the future of sustainable mobility and workforce development, further enhancing Georgia's position as a leader in innovation and technology.

Hyundai's investment in Georgia extends beyond economic impact, with over $6 million directed towards local communities through philanthropic programs and partnerships. The company's commitment to sustainability is evident in its plans to power the Metaplant with 100% clean energy and the creation of a park with various amenities for employee use.

As Hyundai Motor Group's investments continue to unfold in Georgia, the state stands to benefit from job creation, economic growth, and a strengthened partnership with a global automotive leader committed to innovation and sustainability.
