Valdosta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp, accompanied by various state officials, signed a comprehensive package of legislation aimed at bolstering Georgia's agricultural industry and enhancing security measures against foreign threats.

The legislation, signed by Governor Kemp, covers a range of crucial areas impacting Georgia's agricultural sector. Notably, the bill includes measures to address ownership of agricultural land by foreign entities, alleviate input costs for farmers, protect children from misleading marketing, and increase penalties for livestock theft.

Governor Kemp expressed his support for Georgia's farming families, stating, "As valued members of our state's number one industry, Georgia's farming families deserve our enduring support as they face unprecedented challenges." He also thanked legislative partners for their work in addressing these important issues.

In addition to agriculture-focused initiatives, the package also tackles issues beyond the agricultural sector. One such bill, named after Austin Walters, targets the distribution of fentanyl-laced medications, aiming to hold accountable those responsible for causing fentanyl overdose deaths.

The Governor extended his appreciation to all those involved in the development and advancement of the legislation, acknowledging their diligent work and efforts that culminated in the signing of these bills.
