AGCO announced on June 2 that it is advancing fuel-saving technologies across its Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra brands, aiming to help farmers reduce operating costs while maintaining performance and reliability during fieldwork. The company said these improvements are supported by engine development and integrated powertrain solutions from AGCO Power, its division responsible for designing and manufacturing engines.
Kari Aaltonen, Director of Engineering at AGCO Power, said, “For farmers, fuel efficiency is about lowering operating costs without sacrificing the performance and reliability they need during critical fieldwork. Across our brands, AGCO Power focuses on engineering engines and integrated powertrains that deliver measurable efficiency gains in real working conditions.”
The company highlighted that the AGCO Power CORE engine family is a key component in Fendt’s latest tractor platforms. These engines are featured in several Vario series tractors such as the CORE50 in the Fendt 600 Vario series and the CORE75 in the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 series. Independent DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) PowerMix testing of the Fendt 700 Vario series demonstrated strong fuel efficiency performance for both field and transport applications.
Massey Ferguson also utilizes AGCO Power engines in its product lineup. According to recent DLG PowerMix testing results cited by AGCO, the Massey Ferguson 8S.265 Xtra Dyna E-Power placed first overall for fieldwork in its category. The company stated that this demonstrates how integration of AGCO Power engines with Massey Ferguson transmission technology can deliver measurable efficiency outcomes.
Valtra tractors have long used AGCO Power engines paired with an EcoPower operating philosophy focused on maintaining high torque at lower engine speeds to support reduced fuel consumption. This approach was reflected in independent comparison tests cited by Valtra as well as DLG PowerMix results. Additionally, Valtra employs a selective catalytic reduction system designed to enable efficient combustion compared with previous engine generations.
AGCO’s focus on combining proven engine technology from AGCO Power with brand-specific tractor integration has led to measurable fuel efficiency gains across all three brands—Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra—according to the company statement. In addition to equipment innovation efforts like these, AGCO Corporation supports community initiatives focused on nutrition education and sustainable food systems; operates manufacturing facilities worldwide; has received honors including design awards for its products; maintains a workforce of about 24,000 employees globally; delivers sustainable agricultural solutions; and offers support for more than 10,000 equipment models through retrofit precision agriculture technologies—all according to the official website.
