Amanda Stafford has been named principal of Mimosa Elementary School, according to a May 14 announcement. Stafford brings experience as a middle school mathematics teacher, graduation coach, and most recently as assistant principal at Esther Jackson Elementary School.
The appointment is significant for the Sandy Springs and Roswell communities, where Stafford has served students and families for the past 12 years. Her leadership is credited with improving student achievement in areas such as reading proficiency, English language development, and overall school performance.
Throughout her career, Stafford has focused on creating systems that support all students while ensuring that each child is met at their individual level and empowered to grow academically and socially. She has also led initiatives to strengthen school culture which resulted in the school earning PBIS Distinguished recognition.
Stafford said she believes schools are strongest when families, staff, and community partners work collaboratively. “She is committed to fostering a welcoming environment in which all stakeholders feel valued, heard, and connected,” the announcement states.
Stafford expressed her commitment to ensuring every student develops skills for future success. She said she looks forward to partnering with students, families, staff, and community members “to continue building upon the school’s strong foundation while supporting the growth and success of every child.”
