Andrew College celebrates Class of 2026 at commencement ceremony

Andrew College celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 during its Commencement Ceremony on May 9. The event took place in the Ruth Tarrer & G. Clyde Jinks, Sr. Physical Education Complex.

The ceremony began with remarks from Dr. Calandra Lockhart, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and an invocation by Rev. Allen Carmichael, Chaplain. Dr. William R. Kennedy, President of Andrew College, welcomed graduates and guests to the occasion, while George G. Flowers, Chair of the Board of Trustees, also shared greetings.

Musical performances included “Amazing Grace” and the Andrew College Alma Mater written in 1922 by alumna Hattie Branch Sibley and led by student Blaire Cadenhead.

Several faculty members, staff, and students were recognized for their achievements during the ceremony. Awards presented included: John H. Woodall Enhanced Teaching Award to Deborah Liss-Green; Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award to Tiara Noel; Outstanding Staff Member Award to Jennifer Mitchell; Pilot Friendship Award to Jazmyn Lang; Andy Award for Service and Leadership to Na-laya Singleton; and Andy Award for Scholarship to Adam Boyd.

“As we celebrate the Class of 2026, we also recognize the faculty, staff, and students whose leadership, scholarship, and service continue to strengthen the Andrew College community,” said Dr. William R. Kennedy. “We are proud of all that this graduating class has accomplished and look forward to the impact they will make in their communities and careers.”

Andrew College was founded in 1854 in Cuthbert, Georgia. It is affiliated with The United Methodist Church and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
