The Archbold Auxiliary announced on Mar. 25 that it will hold a Meet and Greet Soirée for individuals interested in joining its volunteer group. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 17, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Madison Grove Clubhouse in Thomasville.

The event aims to attract new members to support the hospital’s mission of providing care and assistance to patients and visitors. The Archbold Auxiliary has been active since Archbold Memorial opened in 1925, with volunteers serving across various areas of the hospital and its facilities.

Pat Jones, President of the Archbold Auxiliary, said, “The Archbold Auxiliary is an extension of care for Archbold’s patients and their families. We are another layer of support and encouragement for anyone who walks through our doors.” Volunteers assist with greeting visitors at the Information Desk, interacting with families in surgery waiting areas, supporting departments throughout the hospital, and more.

In addition to their service roles, auxiliary members raise funds for projects such as scholarships for students pursuing healthcare careers and equipment purchases like 3D breast mammography technology. “In the past, we have raised money to help fund 3D breast mammography, the John B. and Elizabeth V. Wight Inpatient Hospice Center and more,” Jones said. “We strongly believe in contributing to the betterment of our facilities. Every year, we also award money to current students who are preparing for a career in healthcare.”

Bonnie Hayes, Volunteer Services Director at Archbold Hospitals, invited prospective volunteers: “This drop-in event is a way for those interested in becoming an Auxiliary member to come and talk to current members to learn more about the organization and open volunteer positions,” she said.

Archbold Hospitals supports community health through wellness programs, health screenings, and educational initiatives according to the official website. Its flagship campus is located in Thomasville along with other facilities across South Georgia and North Florida according to the official website. The organization operates as a not-for-profit entity dedicated to enhancing community well-being according to its official website.
