Archbold Brooks Hospital in Quitman contributed over $24.5 million to the Brooks County economy, according to recent data from the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA). The analysis, based on 2023 figures and independent third-party modeling, also shows that Archbold’s four hospitals together added nearly $1.2 billion to Georgia’s statewide economy.

The GHA study found that Archbold Brooks supports a total of 127 jobs in Brooks County, including 82 full- and part-time positions at the hospital itself. Across all its facilities, the Archbold system supports 5,292 jobs throughout Georgia. These roles generate more than $9.4 million in household earnings across the state.

Darcy Craven, President and CEO of Archbold Hospitals, said: “While our primary mission will always be to provide access to high-quality, compassionate, and cutting-edge care, we are proud of Archbold’s significant positive impact on the economy of South Georgia.”

Archbold has served as a healthcare provider in the region for over a century. Its services range from cancer treatment to primary care for area residents.

Kortney Thomas, Administrator at Archbold Brooks, stated: “Archbold Brooks is committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused healthcare to the people of Brooks County and the surrounding area. We are proud to have served this wonderful community since 1936.”

GHA represents more than 150 hospitals in Georgia and advocates for their interests statewide. The economic impact assessment was developed with IMPLAN using data from both state health authorities and federal cost reports.
