State Representative Eric Bell, together with lawmakers and advocates, is set to address the media in Atlanta today. The press conference will focus on ending Georgia State Patrol’s (GSP) pursuit practices. This move comes after a fatal car accident occurred recently in the Little Five Points area.

The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Moreland and Euclid Avenue Northeast. Rep. Bell will be joined by Devin Barrington-Ward, director of communications with the National Police Accountability Project, along with other state representatives such as Park Cannon and Gabriel Sanchez, Atlanta City Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari, Dr. Mark Spencer, and Georgia NAACP president Gerald Griggs.

The aim of the conference is to advocate for the cessation of high-speed chases and promote amendments to current GSP pursuit policies.

More information can be obtained by contacting (404) 656-0129 or via email at eric.bell@house.ga.gov. The event location details are specified as Little Five Points, Intersection of Moreland and Euclid Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.
