The Atlanta Falcons announced on May 7 the signing of cornerback Darren Hall to their roster. This marks Hall’s second tenure with the team, as he was originally drafted by Atlanta in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Hall made his professional debut during Week 3 of his rookie season and played in 14 games that year, recording one sack, 27 tackles, and three passes defended. In his second season with Atlanta, Hall started nine games and appeared in all 17 contests. He finished that year with 45 tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
After being waived by the Falcons in August 2023, Hall spent time between practice squads for both Indianapolis and Arizona before returning to Atlanta. During his college career at San Diego State, he tied for the FBS lead in pass breakups with sixteen during the 2019 season.
In a related move, safety Tysheem Johnson has been released from the roster. The Atlanta Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division and are based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team began as an expansion franchise in 1965 and has advanced to the Super Bowl twice—in both 1998 and 2016—according to their official website.
Looking ahead, Hall’s return adds depth to Atlanta’s secondary as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
