Dustin M. Batchelor and Maya E.M. Davis, both recent graduates of the University of Georgia School of Law, were named Academic All-American Advocates by the National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators, according to a May 22 announcement.

The recognition is given to fewer than 30 students nationwide each year and honors those who have demonstrated exceptional success in courtroom advocacy competitions, leadership within their law school community, and strong academic achievement.

Batchelor was recognized as an Academic All-American Appellate Advocate for his performance at the Claude Pepper Elder Law Moot Court Competition national championship. Davis received the title of Academic All-American Trial Advocate for her performance at the All-Star Bracket Challenge. The announcement stated: “Congratulations to recent graduates Dustin M. Batchelor (J.D.’26) and Maya E.M. Davis (J.D.’26) on being named Academic All-American Advocates by the National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators. Fewer than 30 students nationwide received the honor, which recognizes students who have had exemplary success in courtroom advocacy competitions, modeled good leadership and fellowship within the law school community and excelled academically.” It also said: “Batchelor was named an Academic All-American Appellate Advocate for his performance at the Claude Pepper Elder Law Moot Court Competition national championship while Davis was named an Academic All-American Trial Advocate for her performance at the All-Star Bracket Challenge.”
