Traffic on JR Allen Parkway eastbound at Exit 3A will be rerouted via Bradley Park Drive, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. This detour affects traffic on the east side of the bridge as well. The route will lead motorists back onto JR Allen Parkway through Exit 4 (River Road/SR 219) to regain access to Exit 3A.
The Georgia Department of Transportation advises that “dates may change due to weather or other factors.” They urge drivers to “expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.”
Motorists can obtain real-time updates by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
Georgia DOT’s responsibilities include planning, constructing, and maintaining highways in Georgia. The department is also involved in bridge projects, waterways, public transit systems, railways, general aviation programs, and bike and pedestrian initiatives. Additionally, they assist local governments with road maintenance.
“Georgia DOT and its nearly 4,000 employees are committed to delivering a transportation system focused on innovation, safety, sustainability and mobility,” states the release. Their goal is “to boost Georgia’s competitiveness through leadership in transportation.”
