Brooke Scharfstein has been announced as the new principal of Autrey Mill Middle School, according to a May 14 statement. Scharfstein brings twenty years of experience with Fulton County Schools, having served as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal.
Her appointment is significant for the school community because she has demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and fostering inclusive learning environments. The announcement highlights her leadership at State Bridge Crossing Elementary, where she focused on empowering teachers and supporting student growth.
Scharfstein is recognized for her collaborative approach to leadership, data-informed instruction, and efforts to build strong partnerships with families and the broader school community. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University. She also holds both a Master of Education and Specialist of Education in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University.
Outside work, Scharfstein enjoys spending time with her family—her husband David and their three children—as well as reading, attending live music events, and following college football.
