Savannah, GA – The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) will close the Chatham Parkway bridge at Interstate 16 for 20 days, starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 20. This closure is to allow contractors to raise the existing bridge over I-16 to support reconstructed interstate lanes below.
During this period, all ramps on and off I-16 will remain open, except as specified in the detour maps provided by Georgia DOT.
Traffic will be affected as follows: eastbound off-ramp traffic from I-16 can only turn south onto Chatham Parkway; northbound traffic on Chatham Parkway approaching I-16 can only turn right onto eastbound I-16; westbound off-ramp traffic from I-16 can only turn north onto Chatham Parkway; and southbound traffic on Chatham Parkway approaching I-16 can only turn right onto westbound I-16.
