The Chattahoochee County School District recognized National School Nurse Appreciation Day on May 6, highlighting the important role school nurses play in supporting students and communities.

School Nurse Appreciation Day is observed to honor the care, compassion, and dedication that school nurses provide every day. The district said these professionals are often the first to respond to student needs and serve as advocates for student well-being.

“On School Nurse Appreciation Day, we recognize the incredible care, compassion, and dedication school nurses bring to our communities every day. They are often the first to respond, the ones who listen, comfort, and advocate for student well-being with both skill and heart. Their impact reaches far beyond treating illnesses—they help create safe, supportive environments where students can thrive. We are truly grateful for all that they do,” the district said in a statement.

The district invited community members to join in expressing appreciation for its school nurses: Sharin Lindhorst (CCEC Nurse), Alison Wigand (CCMHS Nurse), and Alysssa Ceravone (CCMHS Nurse).

Recognizing these individuals underscores their ongoing commitment to ensuring safe learning environments where students can succeed.

As schools continue to rely on dedicated health professionals, such recognition days aim to remind communities of their essential contributions.
