The City of Savannah announced on June 1 that it is inviting residents to participate in selecting the official name for a new signature playground at Daffin Park as part of the “Let’s Play, Savannah!” initiative.

Three names—KIDZ CORNER, PLAYLANDIA, and FUNLY PARK—have been chosen as finalists following submissions from local students and families. Community members are encouraged to cast their votes online through the City’s “Let’s Play, Savannah!” landing page or via its social media platforms. The winning name and contest winner will be revealed during an upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony.

According to the release, the naming campaign was created to encourage community participation, especially among local youth, in shaping one of Savannah’s newest ADA-compliant recreational spaces. The playground is part of a broader Recreation Reimagined Initiative aimed at enhancing parks and recreational facilities across the city.

Voting will remain open until Friday, June 19. More information about voting can be found at https://www.savannahga.gov/4360/Lets-Play-Savannah.

The City of Savannah operates under a City Manager who oversees financial operations including budget preparation and reporting; it manages a budget of $425 million and employs around 2,400 people, according to the official site. The city also promotes healthy neighborhoods and public space maintenance as part of efforts to foster vibrant community life, according to its government operations page.
