Clayton County Parks and Recreation announced on May 26 that registration will open June 15 for its Mobile Golf Simulator classes at the South Clayton Recreation Center, located at 1837 McDonough Rd., Hampton. The program, in partnership with Pixel Partee LLC instructor James Hall, will run Mondays and Wednesdays from June 29 to August 1.
The classes are structured for two age groups: Session 1 is for ages 5–14 from 6 PM to 7 PM, and Session 2 is for ages 15 and up from 7 PM to 8 PM. The cost is $55 for residents and $80 for non-residents. Participants can expect structured league play, themed golf events, and professional lessons using a high-quality golf simulator.

In recent years, Clayton County has seen changes in local school enrollment patterns. Enrollment at Clayton County schools dropped by 2.5% in the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year; total enrollment was reported as 61,644 students during that period, according to the Georgia Department of Education. Black students made up the largest ethnic group within county schools at 68%, followed by Hispanic students at 24%. Multiracial students represented about three percent of enrollment while white students were two percent of the student body, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
The new golf program aims to offer recreational opportunities as part of ongoing community engagement efforts.
