Clayton County Parks and Recreation announced on May 13 that it is expanding local tennis activities, promoting community participation, and offering special gifts and incentives to encourage players of all levels to play at the Clayton County International Park Tennis Center in Jonesboro.
The announcement comes as part of the celebration of May as National Tennis Month. The department aims to attract both new and current players by offering an annual membership at the Tennis Center for $100. To mark the occasion, new annual members will receive a free t-shirt and be entered into a prize drawing.
According to the release, every Sunday during May one winner will be selected to receive a pair of Spivey Splash Water Park tickets, Parks and Recreation merchandise, and a choice between one free tennis lesson or one free pickleball lesson. The offer is available while supplies last for those who claim their membership before the end of the month.
The department said its efforts are inspired by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as it seeks to increase engagement in tennis across all skill levels. Interested participants can contact tennis.center@claytoncountyga.gov or call 678.479.5016 for more information about memberships or programs.
