The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 7 the arrest of Justin Eugene Carver, a 37-year-old from Douglas, Georgia, who was wanted as a fugitive from justice in Pennsylvania. The arrest followed an investigation by a detective with the Coffee County Sex Offender Unit.

Authorities said they received information from the public on May 5 regarding Carver’s possible presence in Coffee County. During their investigation, officials confirmed that Carver was wanted in Pennsylvania on charges including Corruption of Minors, Disseminating Explicit Sexual Materials to a Minor, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Indecent Exposure, and Disorderly Conduct. Pennsylvania authorities confirmed that the warrant for his arrest was active and indicated they would extradite him.

Investigators discovered that Carver had been working in Smithfield, North Carolina. After law enforcement agencies there were notified about his location, Carver fled and returned to Coffee County.

On May 7, detectives located a vehicle associated with Carver concealed behind a residence on Kamera Road. Deputies responded to assist and found Carver hiding inside the residence before taking him into custody without incident.

Sheriff Fred Cole said: “If you are an individual fleeing another state, city, or even county with any charge… stay out of Coffee County. Our Sex Offender Unit is the best in the state, and if you come here looking to hide, you’ve got another thing coming. We will find you, and we will work with agencies across this country to make sure you are brought to justice.”

Carver was transported to the Coffee County Jail where he faces charges as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition back to Pennsylvania.
