Dan Klingerman, owner and operator of The Liberty Group in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has been elected as the newest At-Large Director on the Little League International Board of Directors, according to a May 21 announcement.

The addition of Klingerman is intended to strengthen the board’s efforts to expand access and opportunities for communities worldwide. Patrick Wilson, President and CEO of Little League, said: “As an industry leader in youth sports, we are committed to strengthening our Board of Directors to help us reach our goal of expanding access and opportunities to communities around the world. Dan’s extensive commitment to nonprofit organizations, deep understanding of the Little League brand, and proven leadership skills will play a vital role on our board.”

Klingerman is a former Little Leaguer who later returned as his son’s baseball coach at Loyalsock (Pa.) Little League. Their time together included playing in the Pennsylvania District 12 Championship game at Howard J. Lamade Stadium. Reflecting on his appointment and connection with the community, Klingerman said: “I have been blessed in more ways than I can count, and as my journey has unfolded, it has become increasingly important to give back to the community where I found my success. Giving back is how we transform personal achievement into something far more meaningful – turning success into significance and creating a lasting impact that reaches well beyond ourselves.”

Klingerman leads The Liberty Group with holdings across several states including Texas, Colorado, Missouri, and maintains offices in Williamsport; Dallas; and Naples. He also serves on various nonprofit boards such as UPMC Susquehanna Health System and Penn College Foundation.

Steven P. Johnson, Chairman of the Little League International Board of Directors said: “A mission-driven nonprofit, Little League would not be the organization it is today without the thousands of communities and dedicated individuals around the world supporting our local leagues… On behalf of the board, I am honored to welcome Dan as our newest director and look forward to bringing his leadership and expertise to our team.”

The management of property and business affairs for Little League Baseball Incorporated is vested in its International Board of Directors. Alongside at-large members from diverse backgrounds are nine Field Directors representing each region within Little League who serve four-year terms nominated by their peers.
