Delta Air Lines announced on May 13 that it will expand its trans-Atlantic schedule this fall by adding special flights to Madrid and Munich to support customers traveling for two major international professional football games in November.

The move aims to provide more travel options and flexibility during a busy period, as fans head overseas to watch their teams compete. Delta will operate four additional round-trip flights between the United States and Europe, timed around the events in Madrid and Munich.

Jeff Arinder, Vice President – International Network Planning at Delta Air Lines, said, “There’s nothing like the energy of fans traveling across the Atlantic to rally behind their team, and we’re excited to help make those journeys unforgettable. With these added flights to Madrid and Munich, customers can enjoy a premium, elevated travel experience from takeoff to touchdown, arriving ready to celebrate, connect and be part of an incredible atmosphere abroad.”

According to details released by Delta Air Lines: From Atlanta, there will be two additional nonstop flights departing for Madrid on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 with return service on Nov. 9; from Detroit, two nonstop flights will depart for Munich on Nov. 11 with returns scheduled for Nov. 16. All four flights are set to use Airbus A330 aircraft featuring various onboard experiences including Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating.

As the official airline partner of both the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions teams participating in these games abroad, Delta is facilitating fan travel from key U.S. hubs while continuing investments in its network and customer offerings. According to the official website, Delta operates a global fleet comprising aircraft models from Airbus and Boeing; connects more than 350 destinations worldwide; delivers scheduled passenger transport across domestic and international locations; functions as a leading global carrier incorporated under U.S. law; focuses on secure air travel linking people globally; offers planned services for both passengers and cargo.

Customers booking these new routes can expect chef-curated meals onboard along with premium entertainment options plus fast Wi-Fi available free of charge for SkyMiles members throughout their journey.
