Delta Air Lines released on May 20 a summary of resources and updates designed to help SkyMiles Members and customers prepare for summer travel. The airline highlighted the Delta app as a central tool for streamlining check-in, receiving real-time updates, managing baggage, and accessing expedited App Bag Drop lanes at 20 airports including all Delta hubs.

The announcement matters to travelers seeking efficient ways to navigate busy airports and manage unexpected changes during peak travel season. With more than 97% of its most loyal customers—Platinum Medallions and higher—using the app last year, Delta said that satisfaction rates are higher among those who use these digital tools.

International travelers can now scan passports or residency cards directly in the app before check-in. The app also provides personalized entry requirements for various destinations, reducing uncertainty when flying abroad. Eligible SkyMiles Members can opt in to TSA PreCheck Touchless ID at over 60 airports by saving their passport information and Known Traveler Number in their profile.

Delta introduced its AI-powered in-app assistant, Delta Concierge, currently available to select users but set for broader rollout by the end of summer. “Delta Concierge, currently in Beta, supports you with every use, surfacing quick answers to questions about your trip, SkyMiles status and more,” according to the company. The assistant will also offer alternative flight options if trips are disrupted by weather or operational issues.

Customers facing delays or changes can rebook flights through the app—including standby listings at nearby airports—with expanded options coming later this summer. At domestic hubs, airport visitors can join virtual queues via QR codes instead of waiting in line at “Need Help” Centers.

Onboard amenities include fast Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile on over 1,200 aircraft—a feature supporting Delta Sync’s digital entertainment portal available both on personal devices and seatback screens on many planes. New content partnerships allow passengers access to streaming platforms like FOX One during flights as well as after landing.

Snack service has expanded since May 19: More flights now offer full snack and beverage selections such as Cheez-It crackers or Lotus Biscoff Cookies alongside Coca-Cola products or premium beverages like Tito’s Handmade Vodka across approximately 600 daily routes operated by Delta Air Lines’ global fleet comprising Airbus and Boeing models according to the official website.

Baggage tracking is integrated into the app; most bags arrive with their owners while delayed luggage typically arrives on the next flight segment according to the official website. For international connections from Seoul (ICN) through Atlanta, Minneapolis or Detroit—and soon Los Angeles or Seattle—customers benefit from automatic bag transfers without rechecking mid-journey. Travelers connecting through Atlanta from London Heathrow (LHR) may skip redundant screenings entirely after customs clearance.

SkyMiles Members earn miles when linking Uber accounts via delta.com/uber: three miles per dollar spent on Uber Reserve trips; two miles per dollar spent on premium rides; one mile per dollar spent on UberX rides between airports.*

Delta Air Lines operates scheduled passenger and cargo transport across more than 350 destinations worldwide according to the official website. The company functions as a leading global carrier incorporated under U.S. law according to the official website.
