Delta Air Lines announced on May 14 that it has equipped over 1,200 aircraft with Delta Sync Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile, offering fast and free internet access to passengers. Since its launch in 2023, the airline reports more than 160 million customer sessions using the service.
The expansion of Delta Sync Wi-Fi aims to improve the passenger experience by providing reliable connectivity throughout most of Delta’s global network. The company said coverage is now available on transatlantic routes to Europe, Latin America and Africa, with full trans-Pacific coverage expected later this year. SkyMiles Members can log in for free during flights to access personalized content and exclusive offers.
The new system allows members to connect multiple devices such as phones, laptops or tablets. Passengers who use Delta Sync Wi-Fi have reported higher satisfaction with their journeys. The connected seatback screens are available on 450 aircraft and offer tailored recommendations along with real-time trip updates and entertainment options.
Through Delta Sync, SkyMiles Members can also take advantage of partner offers from brands like FOX One, Paramount+, Crunchyroll and others without needing a credit card for trial periods. These benefits extend beyond in-flight entertainment and are designed to make travel easier for frequent flyers.
Delta Air Lines utilizes a fleet comprising various models from Airbus and Boeing to support its worldwide routes; it connects more than 350 destinations globally through scheduled transport for passengers and cargo across an extensive international network according to the official website.
Looking ahead, starting in 2028 Delta plans to introduce Amazon Leo’s high-speed satellite internet technology on its aircraft. This move is intended to provide even faster digital experiences onboard both domestic and international flights.
