Beginning March 27, 2026, a new traffic pattern will be introduced at the intersection of State Route 16 and England Chapel/High Falls Road in Butts County. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), this change is part of Stage 3 of an ongoing project to construct a roundabout at the location.

The adjustment will involve shifting traffic into a circular pattern to facilitate the construction of a center apron and concrete islands for the roundabout. Northbound drivers on England Chapel Road will be directed east on SR 16, then left onto Shiloh Road, followed by another left onto Walt Banks Road before rejoining England Chapel Road. Southbound traffic will turn left onto Walt Banks Road, right onto Shiloh Road, and then right again onto SR 16 to return to the south side of England Chapel Road.

GDOT has advised that dates for these changes may shift due to weather or other unforeseen factors. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use caution and reduce speed while traveling through work zones. For up-to-date information on roadwork status and traffic conditions, travelers can call 511, visit https://511ga.org/, or use the Georgia 511 app.
