Emily Fish, the Assistant State Maintenance Engineer for Emergency Operations at the Georgia Department of Transportation, has been honored with the Wayne Shackelford Leadership Award. This recognition comes in light of her efforts during the recovery from Hurricane Helene. The hurricane response involved over 2,000 team members working for nine months to clear roads and restore communities.
Fish emphasized that the award is a testament to the hard work of all crews involved. “The award belongs to every crew in the field working tirelessly for Georgia,” she said.
