A former operations manager at Tribe Transportation in Gainesville, Georgia, has been arraigned on federal charges for allegedly embezzling more than $500,000 from the company. Dustin Jarrard, 38, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 22, 2025, and appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Anna W. Howard.
“Jarrard allegedly stole more than $500,000 that was intended to help truckers on the road,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. “We will hold accountable those who abuse their positions of trust and embezzle funds for their personal use.”
According to court documents and statements from prosecutors, Jarrard worked as an operations manager at Tribe Transportation from May 2018 through May 2024. He had authority to request expense reimbursements on behalf of truck drivers by submitting the driver’s name, reason for the expense, and amount to the company’s accounting department.
Over a period of more than three years, Jarrard is accused of sending fraudulent reimbursement requests. Some requests were made for drivers not employed by Tribe Transportation; these payments were then redeemed by Jarrard himself. In other instances, he reportedly involved current drivers in the scheme by submitting false payment requests for expenses that never occurred or bonuses that were not earned. After receiving these funds, some drivers transferred money back to Jarrard.
“This case is a clear example of financial fraud fueled by greed,” said Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “Jarrard allegedly manipulated internal processes to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars. The FBI is committed to uncovering and stopping this kind of corporate theft.”
The indictment only contains charges at this stage; Jarrard is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into this case. Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Keen is prosecuting.
