Steve Cortes, founder of the League of American Workers, has expressed concerns about the Republican Party’s ability to convince voters on economic issues. Citing recent polling by his organization, Cortes said that Republicans in Washington are not effectively addressing voter concerns regarding the economy and inflation. This statement was made on X.

According to the Peachtree Times, a poll released by the League of American Workers in July 2025 indicates that while Republicans hold a slight lead in Georgia’s Senate and presidential races, a significant 83% of voters disapprove of the national economy. The poll underscores inflation and cost of living as major issues, suggesting that these economic concerns could potentially hinder GOP gains.
Gallup reported in April 2025 that 60% of Americans express significant concern about inflation, placing it just behind healthcare costs (62%) as a top national issue. Additionally, 55% of respondents indicated substantial worry about the broader economy, reflecting ongoing public anxiety over financial stability.
The Pew Research Center highlighted a January 2024 survey revealing a stark partisan divide in economic perceptions. The survey found that 44% of Democrats rated the U.S. economy as excellent or good, compared to only 13% of Republicans. Furthermore, while 34% of Democrats anticipated improvements in economic conditions over the next year, only 20% of Republicans shared this optimism.
