GBI arrests Baldwin County man on child molestation and related charges

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on May 22 the arrest of David Allen Barber, age 53, of Sparta, Baldwin County, Georgia. Barber has been charged with one count each of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and grooming.

According to the GBI statement, these charges follow an investigation that began after the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance regarding allegations against Barber. The investigation found that Barber had sexual contact with a minor at his home.

Barber was arrested on May 22 and booked into the Baldwin County Jail. The GBI said that the investigation is active and ongoing.

The agency encourages anyone with information about this case to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Milledgeville at 478-445-4173. Once their investigation is complete, officials said they will forward the case file to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
