The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on May 20 that Aisha Al-Khalifa, age 41, of Grovetown, has been arrested and charged with False Statements and Violation of Oath of Office. Al-Khalifa is the former Chief of the Warm Springs Police Department.

The case stems from an investigation into alleged police misconduct involving current and former members of the Warm Springs Police Department. The GBI said it was asked by the department to investigate these allegations on June 26, 2024. During their inquiry, agents determined that Al-Khalifa knowingly made false statements to investigators.

According to authorities, Al-Khalifa turned herself in on Friday, May 15, and was booked into the Meriwether County Detention Center in Greenville.

Officials are asking anyone with information about this investigation to contact the GBI Regional Office in Columbus at (706) 565-7888. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), online at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online, or through the See Something, Send Something mobile app.

Once completed, officials say the investigation will be turned over to the Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution.
