The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on May 14 the arrest of Jorge Alejandro Gonzalez, age 44, Jose Neo Rodriguez, age 28, and Adrianna Gonzalez, age 27, all from Chatsworth, Georgia. The arrests are related to a shooting that took place in Whitfield County.

Rodriguez is identified as a former officer with the Calhoun Police Department. According to the GBI statement, Jorge Gonzalez faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Both Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez have been charged with making false statements to law enforcement, stalking, and aggravated assault.

The investigation began after authorities were called on May 6 at about 7:15 p.m. to assist with a shooting incident near County Farm Road in Whitfield County. Investigators say Jorge Gonzalez shot at a man and woman while Rodriguez and Adrianna Gonzalez allegedly helped him locate and follow the victims before the shooting occurred.

Jorge Gonzalez was taken into custody on May 6 and booked into the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Detention Center. Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez were arrested one week later on May 13 and also booked into the same facility.

The GBI reports that this investigation remains active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Calhoun by phone or submit anonymous tips online or through their mobile app.

Once completed, officials said that case materials will be turned over to the Conasauga District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
