The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on May 21 that Jonathon Curtis Stone, age 23, of Zebulon, Georgia, has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children.

According to the bureau, the arrest follows an investigation that began in January 2025 after the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit received multiple Cyber Tipline Reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding distribution of child sexual abuse material. The investigation led authorities to Stone in Pike County.

Stone was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 19 and booked into the Pike County Jail. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

The case is part of a broader effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force within the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit. According to officials, this task force was created by the U.S. Department of Justice in response to increased internet use among minors, growing circulation of child sexual abuse material online, and more predators seeking unsupervised contact with underage victims.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about other cases involving child exploitation to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation CEACC Unit at 404-270-8870 or submit a tip through Cybertipline.org. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), online at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online, or via the See Something, Send Something mobile app.
