The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced upcoming maintenance repairs on the concrete pavement of I-16 eastbound in Bibb County. These repairs will begin next week and cover the stretch from Mile Marker 3. The maintenance work is scheduled to take place during the late evening and early morning hours, specifically from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. on May 6 and May 7, 2025.
The nearest crossroads to the work zone will be US 80 and SR 23. For commuters, it is recommended to adjust travel plans to accommodate these repairs, minimizing potential disruptions due to these necessary improvements.
Next week, Lane 1 of the highway will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday night from 8:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Motorists are advised to expect potential delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed when traveling through the work zones. For real-time information on work status and traffic conditions, travelers can call 511, visit 511ga.org, or use the Georgia 511 app.
