A Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractor is scheduled to perform concrete maintenance on Interstate 75 Northbound in Monroe County from mile marker 188, starting August 5 through August 6, 2025. The work will take place overnight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., with shoulder closures expected during the project.
The maintenance will occur between Johnstonville Road and Cabiness Road. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to expect delays, use caution, and reduce speed while passing through the work zone. GDOT recommends drivers check real-time traffic conditions before traveling by calling 511, visiting https://511ga.org/, or using the Georgia 511 app.
According to GDOT, “Georgia Department of Transportation plans, constructs and maintains Georgia’s state and federal highways. We’re involved in bridge, waterway, public transit, rail, general aviation, bike and pedestrian programs. And we help local governments maintain their roads. Georgia DOT and its nearly 4,000 employees are committed to delivering a transportation system focused on innovation, safety, sustainability and mobility. The Department’s vision is to boost Georgia’s competitiveness through leadership in transportation.”
