The Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced on May 14 its support for the May Matters initiative and released its legislative scorecard as the state approaches the May 19 primary election.

The announcement aims to encourage civic engagement among business leaders, employees, and communities across Georgia. The Chamber is emphasizing the importance of understanding when primary elections occur, why they matter, and how individuals can participate in shaping the state’s future.

Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, said: “The Georgia Chamber is proud to support May Matters. Together, we’re encouraging Georgians and their communities to show up, stay informed, and to make their voices heard in this year’s primary because the decisions made today will shape the future of our workforce, our economy and our families.”

Alongside promoting voter participation through May Matters—a nonpartisan effort—the organization has launched its 2025-2026 legislative scorecard. This resource is designed to help voters and business leaders understand outcomes from recent legislative sessions by showing how elected officials voted on key issues affecting economic competitiveness. The scorecard was developed through a member-driven process led by the Government Affairs Council at the Georgia Chamber.

According to information provided by the Chamber, hundreds of bills are introduced each session. The new scorecard highlights critical legislation considered under the Gold Dome and offers an accessible overview for tracking policies important to job creators—including those related to workforce development, infrastructure, legal matters, and regulatory environments.

Founded in 1911 with offices in Atlanta, Brunswick, and Tifton, the Georgia Chamber represents tens of thousands of members statewide. In 2025 it launched Georgia|2050 as a strategic plan for long-term economic opportunity over twenty-five years.
