The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced lane closures necessary for the State Route 400 Express Lanes Project. These closures are intended to facilitate roadwork activities on the stretch, and they are contingent on weather conditions.
Starting Monday, April 21, and lasting through Friday, April 25, lane closures will occur on several sections of State Route 400. On the southbound route, closures will happen from Old Milton Parkway (MM 19) to Holcomb Bridge Road (MM 15), from Holcomb Bridge Road Parkway (MM 15) to Abernathy Road (MM 8), and from SR 141 (MM 27) to Old Milton Parkway (MM 19). Each closure will involve either the inside left lane or the outside right lane and the corresponding shoulder. The closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Similarly, on the northbound route, closures are planned from Abernathy Road (MM 8) to Holcomb Bridge Road (MM 15), from Holcomb Bridge Road (MM 15) to Old Milton Parkway (MM 19), and from Old Milton Parkway (MM 19) to SR 141 (MM 27). The same lane configuration as the southbound closures—either the inside left lane or the outside right lane and the shoulder—will be affected during the same night-time hours.
The Georgia Department of Transportation communicates these updates to ensure the public is informed about upcoming roadwork and potential impacts on travel plans. Further details can be obtained by contacting mediarequests@dot.ga.gov.
