The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 10 that contractors will close lanes for punch list activities as part of the Transform 285/400 project, with daytime closures scheduled for Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Glenridge Drive.
These traffic impacts are expected to cause delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas. The department advises motorists to exercise caution by reducing speed through work zones and paying attention to workers present during construction activities.
During the closure period, Glenridge Drive will be fully closed with several detour routes in place. Motorists traveling from Hammond Drive to I-285 westbound should use Hammond Drive and Roswell Road; those heading from Hammond Drive to Glenridge Connector should use Hammond Drive, Roswell Road, and Glenridge Drive; travelers from I-285 eastbound or Johnson Ferry Road aiming for Glenridge Drive north are directed via alternate routes involving Roswell Road and Hammond Drive.
The department cautions that exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors. Real-time information about work status and traffic conditions is available by calling 511 or visiting the official Georgia DOT website at http://www.511ga.org/ or using the Georgia 511 app.
