Georgia Department of Transportation awards contracts for three infrastructure projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced the awarding of contracts for three infrastructure projects in east-central Georgia. The start dates for these projects have not yet been determined.

In Morgan and Greene counties, Pittman Construction Company will handle the resurfacing of Interstate 20. The project area begins near State Route 83 at Exit 113 and extends west of State Route 44 at Exit 130. The contract is valued at $12.46 million, with completion expected by fall 2026.

Morgan County will also see improvements to State Route 12, also known as Main Street in Madison. East Coast Grading, Inc. was awarded a $1.17 million contract to resurface approximately 2.26 miles of SR 12, from east of Walker Circle to west of the US 441 Bypass. This project is also slated for completion in fall 2026.

Massana Construction, Inc. will undertake a $951,000 bridge rehabilitation project across Laurens and Treutlen counties. In Laurens County, bridges on SR 257 over Stitchihatchie Creek, SR 257 over Turkey Creek, SR 257 over Turkey Creek Overflow, SR 338 over Turkey Creek, and SR 338 over Rocky Creek are included in the work scope. In Treutlen County, the bridges on US 221/SR 56 over Pendleton Creek and SR 199 over Mercer Creek will be rehabilitated. The anticipated completion date for this project is summer 2027.
