The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on May 18 that the left southbound lane of Interstate 75 over Three Notch Road in Catoosa County will be closed for maintenance on Tuesday, May 19, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The closure is needed so GDOT maintenance crews can repair a portion of the bridge. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to expect delays and proceed with caution through the work zone.
According to the department, “Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.” The department also said its maintenance team members continue essential road and bridge repairs while following sanitary practices prescribed by health agencies.
The Georgia Department of Transportation delivers transportation solutions that support economic development and benefit residents across the state; it employs about 4,000 staff members with an operating budget over $4.5 billion; focuses on developing and maintaining Georgia’s roadways while supporting rail, transit and other transportation programs; operates under the State Transportation Board; serves the entire state through its transportation network; and works with local governments and federal agencies to advance transportation efforts, according to the official website.
The upcoming lane closure highlights ongoing efforts by GDOT to maintain safe infrastructure throughout Georgia.
