After a comprehensive analysis phase and stakeholder engagement, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) alongside Gwinnett County has identified 16 potential projects to enhance mobility along the I-85 corridor between I-285 and I-985. To inform and engage the public, Georgia DOT and Gwinnett County are organizing public meetings and community events. These gatherings will allow attendees to review project materials, understand the benefits, interact with project team members, and provide feedback on the proposals.
“The projects were created with the goals of improving safety and vehicular mobility, facilitating commercial travel, evaluating multimodal options and supporting Georgia’s economy and the corridor’s communities,” stated Georgia DOT.
The next public meeting is scheduled for May 5, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lucky Shoals Park, located at 4651 Britt Rd, Norcross, GA 30093. At this meeting, participants will have an opportunity to learn about the project recommendations and offer feedback to the study team.
For those seeking more information about the study and upcoming meetings, a visit to the project website at 85Study.com is encouraged.
