The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures around Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road, scheduled from May 16 to May 25, 2025. The construction activities are subject to weather conditions and may be updated daily.

Daytime closures will occur on Saturday, May 17, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., affecting the right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Cliff Valley Way.

Overnight closures will begin on Friday, May 16, at 8 p.m. until Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. These include various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road. Additionally, two right lanes on I-85 southbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road will be closed starting at 9 p.m., alongside pacing at the intersection of SR 42/North Druid Hills Road with Children’s Driveway and New Executive Park Drive.

Further closures and detours are planned for Sunday, May 18, through Monday, May 19. Motorists traveling on I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound should use SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound (Exit 89 A) for access.

From Monday, May 19, to Friday, May 23, additional overnight closures will affect various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road. Pacing operations will also take place at several intersections along this route.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution in these work zones. Real-time updates can be accessed by calling “511,” visiting “511ga.org,” or using the Georgia “511” app.
