The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced lane closures for the Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road project. The closures will affect traffic from June 27 through July 6, 2025. There will be no lane closures during the holiday period from Thursday, July 3, at noon to Sunday, July 6, at 10 p.m.
Overnight closures are scheduled from Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m. to Saturday, June 28, at 6 a.m. Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road will be affected starting at 9 p.m. Pacing on SR 42/North Druid Hills in both directions will also start at that time. Additionally, one right lane on I-85 southbound from Clairmont Road to Lenox Road will close starting at 7 p.m.
Detours have been outlined for motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road toward I-85 northbound and southbound. Travelers should use the I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access their desired routes.
Further overnight closures are planned from Sunday, June 29, through Monday morning and continue through Thursday night into early morning hours each day until July 3. Similar lane restrictions apply with detours advised along SR 42/North Druid Hills Road and connecting roads.
Motorists are urged to expect delays and exercise caution while driving through these work zones. Real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions can be accessed by calling “511,” visiting “511ga.org,” or using the Georgia “511” app.
