The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a series of lane closures and detours on I-285 and SR 400. These closures, set to occur from June 23 through June 30, are part of ongoing punch list activities. The work schedule is subject to daily updates based on weather conditions.
“Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will implement daytime lane closures for punch list activities,” stated the advisory. Drivers can expect possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in certain areas.
Continuous weekend closures will begin Friday, June 27 at 9 p.m. and continue until Monday, June 30 at 5 a.m. General lane closures include one right lane on Roswell Road northbound and southbound between Allen Road and Northwood Drive.
Specific detour instructions have been provided for motorists traveling along Roswell Road to I-285 westbound or eastbound. During overnight hours starting Monday, June 23 through Sunday, June 29, various general lane closures and traffic pacings will take place with specific routes detailed for each night.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed while passing through these work zones and stay alert for workers present in the area. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, drivers can call 511 or visit http://www.511ga.org/. The Georgia Department of Transportation also provides a mobile app for convenience.
