The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced the commencement of a new infrastructure project in Lamar County. Starting June 9, crews will begin constructing a right-hand bypass lane on State Route 36 at Cole Forest Boulevard. This project is part of GDOT’s Quick Response initiative.
The construction is expected to last for 60 days, with traffic being shifted until the summer season. The department advises that dates may change due to weather or other unforeseen factors. Motorists should anticipate delays and are urged to exercise caution and reduce speed when traveling through the work zones.
For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, motorists can call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
