The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued a lane closure advisory for a section of Interstate 20. From Tuesday, April 15, through Friday, April 18, overnight lane closures will be in effect on both the eastbound and westbound sides of I-20, near mile markers 103-104. These closures, running from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., are part of the improvement project at the I-20 and CR 249/Old Mill Road interchange.
The advisory from GDOT urges motorists to anticipate potential delays and to drive cautiously through the work zones. Travelers are encouraged to reduce their speed as they navigate these areas. To stay updated on the project’s status and get current traffic information, GDOT recommends using Georgia’s 511 services by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
Further details about the I-20 project can be found at the US 278 and Old Mill Road Improvement Projects page online.
Motorists should take note of these changes and plan accordingly. For additional information or media inquiries, contact GDOT at mediarequests@dot.ga.gov.
