Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced potential traffic impacts due to construction activities related to the 16@95 Improvement Projects. These projects aim to widen I-16 and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. Weather permitting, interstate lanes and ramps will be closed at specified locations for necessary widening activities on I-16, as well as bridge work on I-95 and at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.
Daytime lane closures are scheduled from Monday, July 14 through Saturday, July 19 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on various sections of I-16 westbound, eastbound, and both directions of I-516.
Nighttime closures are also planned from Monday, July 14 through Saturday, July 19 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., with additional double-lane closures on I-95 overpass during certain hours.
Continuous right-lane closure is scheduled from Friday, July 11 through Monday, July 14 and again from Friday, July 18 through Monday, July 21 at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.
Detour routes have been established to manage traffic flow during these periods without conflicting closures in the area. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly by checking Georgia NaviGAtor at www.511ga.org for real-time traffic alerts.
