Traffic on I-85 and SR 42 will be affected by overnight closures from July 18 through July 27, 2025. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced specific lane closures and detours during this period.

Overnight closures are scheduled for Friday, July 18, from 8 p.m. to Saturday, July 19, at 6 a.m., affecting three right or left lanes on I-85 northbound from Clairmont Road to Lenox Road. Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound will also be closed from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road starting at 9 p.m.

From Monday, July 21, through Saturday, July 26, additional overnight closures will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Three right or left lanes on I-85 northbound will be closed until Wednesday in the same area as previous closures. Pacing will occur on SR 42/North Druid Hills eastbound and westbound during this time.

Starting Wednesday, one right or left lane on I-85 northbound and southbound will be closed from Clairmont Road to Lenox Road. Two right lanes on the I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound are also scheduled for closure.

Detours have been set up for motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to access I-85 southbound starting Wednesday through Thursday. Travelers should use alternative routes including the I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones. For real-time updates on traffic conditions, individuals can call 511 or visit the website at www.511ga.org.
