The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) will hold a virtual industry forum for the US 278 Grade Separation Over CSX Railroad project in Walton County. The event is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026, and will focus on the design-build aspects of the project, which aims to grade separate US 278/SR 12 between East Hightower Trail and West Dixie Highway over two new CSX railroad spur tracks. These tracks are to be constructed by other parties.
The forum will provide details on the proposed scope, procurement schedule, and potential risks associated with the project. Georgia DOT will also offer confidential one-on-one meetings either in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Interested participants are encouraged to preregister for the event. Registered attendees will receive an early access link to the presentation on Thursday, January 29, at 8 a.m. EST. The prerecorded presentation and related materials will be available on the Georgia DOT Design-Build web page within 24 hours of the event.
