The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will host a Winter Weather Preparedness Showcase at its District 7 Maintenance Facility in Forest Park on December 3. The event is designed to give Atlanta-area media a detailed look at how GDOT prepares for winter weather, including snow and ice events.

During the showcase, attendees will be able to observe demonstrations and take part in facility tours that highlight material storage, equipment staging, and fleet readiness. A live demonstration will show how brine is produced and loaded in preparation for winter storms. Media representatives will also have opportunities for on-camera interviews with GDOT leaders responsible for operational and logistical decisions during severe weather.

The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a request for media to arrive by 9:45 a.m. Activities include an overview of planning and logistics, coordination processes, and direct access to maintenance leadership and operations experts.

According to GDOT, visuals available at the event will include brine production, snow and ice equipment displays, crews preparing materials and vehicles, as well as interviews with winter weather operations leaders.

Media are encouraged to RSVP by contacting mediarequests@dot.ga.gov.
