The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced planned lane closures as part of the ongoing Transform 285/400 project. “Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for punch list activities,” the department stated. Motorists should expect potential delays, reduced speeds, and detours.
The closures, which are scheduled to take place between April 28 and April 30, 2025, will impact traffic around I-285 and SR 400. Overnight closures are planned for Monday, April 28 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., affecting the left lane on I-285 westbound from Ashford Dunwoody Road to Roswell Road. There are also detours for travelers on I-285 westbound CD lanes to Roswell Road. On Tuesday, April 29, similar closures will occur overnight.
The work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors. “Exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors,” the advisory stated. Drivers are advised to reduce speed in work zones and remain alert for workers. For updated information on work status and traffic conditions, motorists can call 511, visit the Georgia 511 website, or use the Georgia 511 app.
