The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will hold a media availability event on Friday, January 23, 2026, to discuss its preparations for expected winter weather over the weekend. The event will take place at the GDOT Maintenance Activities Unit in Forest Park from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Natalie Dale, spokesperson for GDOT, will be available for interviews throughout the scheduled hours. She will provide information about statewide readiness efforts, including staffing levels, materials on hand, and response planning for potential weather impacts across the region.

After 3:00 p.m., members of the media will have an opportunity to film winter weather equipment and observe operations such as crews making brine and loading it into trucks. Media crews must be escorted into the facility and are not permitted inside outside of these designated hours.

According to GDOT, “Georgia Department of Transportation plans, constructs and maintains Georgia’s state and federal highways. We’re involved in bridge, waterway, public transit, rail, general aviation, bike and pedestrian programs. And we help local governments maintain their roads. Georgia DOT and its nearly 4,000 employees are committed to delivering a transportation system focused on innovation, safety, sustainability and mobility. The Department’s vision is to boost Georgia’s competitiveness through leadership in transportation.”

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP via email at mediarequests@dot.ga.gov.
