The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on May 6 that its Quick Response Team will begin work to widen the ramp at Exit 35, Grantville/Moreland exit off I-85 southbound. The project will add a dedicated right-turn lane and is expected to continue daily until late July.

Drivers are encouraged to remain alert in the work zone and reduce their speed around workers and equipment. The department advised motorists that dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists should expect delays, exercise caution, and slow down while traveling through the area.

“Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app,” the department said.

The Georgia Department of Transportation delivers transportation solutions that support economic development and benefit residents across the state, employs about 4,000 staff members with an operating budget over $4.5 billion, focuses on developing and maintaining Georgia’s roadways while supporting rail, transit and other transportation programs, operates under the State Transportation Board, serves the entire state through its transportation network, and works with local governments and federal agencies to advance transportation efforts, according to the official website.

Further details about this project can be found in the organization’s press release.
